Mozambique: Cyclone Kenneth

On 25 April 2019, Tropical Cyclone Kenneth made landfall in the Cabo Delgado province of northern Mozambique as a Category 4 storm with winds of up to 200 km/h. Mozambique’s National Disaster Management Institute (INGC) indicated that 30 000 people have been evacuated from high risk areas. INGC also estimated that up to 700 000 people could be affected by Cyclone Kenneth in Mozambique. The ETC is conducting assessments in the affected areas in Cabo Delgado province to determine the ICT needs on the ground.
