Strengthening emergency comms in Nauru
The Pacific ETC supported the Government of Nauru with the inspection and maintenance of its VHF/HF radio network, restoring functionality and enhancing the reliability of a critical lifeline in one of the world’s most climate‑vulnerable nations. Building on preparedness work carried out in 2022, the team also reinforced the country’s emergency communications backbone by training 22 technical staff and providing tailored guidance to strengthen long‑term system resilience. This support helps ensure that national emergency services can effectively troubleshoot, maintain, and integrate communications systems into contingency planning.
