10 Facts About ETC Nepal

1). To date, 15 sites have been provided with shared ETC internet across Chitwan, Dolakha, Gorkha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Nuwakot & Sindhupalchok Districts.

2). 1000+ users from 140+ response organisations have registered to use ETC internet to support their earthquake relief operations.

3). 8x VSATs & 3x ISP links are used to provide connectivity. (And we are working with ISPs to get VSATs out & their links in!)

4). 29 Ericsson Response access points are being used to distribute ETC connectivity.

5). The highest point for ETC services is the Humanitarian Hub in Chautara, 2100m above sea-level.\

6). The ETC Nepal team consists of responders from emergency.lu, Ericsson Response, NetHope, Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) & World Food Programme (WFP).

7). Samaritan's Purse in Bidur, Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF) in Arughat & Plan International in Charikot are hosting NGO Hubs with ETC services.

8). Humanitarian organisations, internet & mobile service providers, & government authorities attend working group meetings to plan the response, together.

9). ETC leverages existing equipment from partner organisations for more cost-effective service provision.

10). US$2.5million is needed to continue operations for 3 months.
