Foundational course covering the basics of ETC Country preparedness.

 

 

Goals

As the scale and number of humanitarian crises increase, so does the need for countries to be well prepared and better equipped to manage these crises. The Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) undertakes preparedness measures as a way of strengthening capacity and building resilience of high-risk countries, using diverse approaches. This course is designed to build awareness about ETC preparedness activities in-country.

 

Training course overview

Modules in the course:

1. ETC Induction

This session is an introduction to the ETC; what we do, the impact we have and who we serve. You will learn about the ETC mandate, how the ETC operates within the UN cluster system and what services we provide.
After this session you will have a good understanding of the role of the ETC in humanitarian operations and you will have a better idea of what to expect when working with or as part of the ETC.

2. ETC Country Preparedness

Sections in this module include:

  • Why Preparedness
  • Assessing risks
  • Country Prioritization
  • ETC Country Preparedness implementation
  • Case Studies for practical application

3. Course Assessment:

In this final part of the course, you will be able to assess how much you have learned about ETC Country Preparedness. The assessment consists of 15 questions, with a passing score of 80%.

After passing the assessment you will be able to save or print your certificate and put your knowledge in practice in real life.
