The Vanuatu Office of the Government CIO (OGCIO) are working on a maritime safety support pilot project to provide satellite connectivity on five domestic ships in Vanuatu. An article in the Vanuatu Daily Post states that the new satellite connectivity solution will provide connectivity to ships when they move outside areas of VHF or mobile network coverage.
